Year 4 visit to the National Portrait Gallery
Last week 4H visited the National Portrait Gallery and interpreted two portraits by looking at the clues provided. We discovered that the frames were as much a part of the original painting as the actual painting as reinforced the skill of the person in the paining. For example Handel’s painting had musical instruments on it. We then made our own paintings and frames.
‘The trip was amazing as we saw pictures of great people, and I learnt that you can learn something by looking at a picture.’ – Sharon
‘I sat opposite my partner Adrian and sketched him and then made him a picture frame.’ – Clifford
